ABOUT US
Joe Roberts aspiring to create a supplier that was focused on the needs of the elevator industry founded Access Elevator Supply in 1988. Prior to this he held management and sales positions with Westinghouse Electric and GE. He saw an opportunity to provide the industry with competitive pricing and immediate availability. This focus served the company well as word of Access Elevator Supply grew. Initially known for having the largest inventory of replacement contact kits in the industry, Access has expanded its’ offering and now provides electrical and electronic controls, relays, timers, fuses and many other items for the elevator industry.
In 2001 Mike Bohn joined Access providing the Company with the ability to offer modification services to customers along with the additional knowledge base of the electrical contractor business. A current program of building custom electrical controls allows us to provide customer centric solutions. Mike has developed an expertise in quickly identifying the customers’ specific needs and offering solutions that may require custom assemblies. He enjoys the troubleshooting aspect of sales to the elevator industry.
We truly believe our most valuable assets are our employees. We strive to provide continuing educational, off-site training and opportunities for advancement from within the Company for our Team. In 2011 we saw a natural progression of our Buyer onto the Sales Team when Jorge Castro shifted responsibilities from Buyer to Sales. Jorge had been our Buyer since 2005 and contributed his knowledge gained in the Procurement Division in the Navy to ensure the right products were available to our customers. His precision and attention to detail coupled with his acquired knowledge of the elevator industry product lines make him a valuable asset to the Sales Team.
Jose Linares was the next in-house promotion moving from the Warehouse Manager to the Buyer position. Since 2002 Jose has been immersed in all products that Access stocks. This made his transition to Buyer in 2011 a natural progression and he is flexing his negotiating muscles to bring our customers the best prices.
Our sales, buying and warehouse departments all have bi-lingual speakers to aide in the ease of having your needs met. In 2005 we opened a fulfillment warehouse in Baltimore to better serve our East Coast customers. In most instances products are shipped the same day and the Coast–to–Coast time zones work to our customers’ advantage. As the last point of contact before your order leaves the warehouse it is Luis Prado’s responsibility to ensure you receive what you ordered accurately and in a timely manner. He runs our shipping and receiving department and his attention to detail and desire to see the job done correctly are critical to his job.
Today we discover that we are relied on more as a technical resource for field mechanics. Technicians call us in the middle of a job with a question about a part that needs to be replaced. That part may be out of production and we work with them to find the current replacement part. Our sales team asks the right questions so the right part goes out the first time. Having our Sales Team available as a technical resource for decisions that need to be made on the job is a big advantage when you call Access Elevator Supply.
As President of Access I am most proud of our sales team and their ability to handle all types of inquires from the field. Customer service is not just a catch phrase to us. It is why we go to work each day.

In 2009 and 2008 we received the Distributor of Excellence Award from Siemens Energy & Automation in recognition of our sales achievement and commitment to mutual business development.
In 2007 Siemens Energy & Automation awarded Access Elevator Supply the Business Excellence Award in acknowledgement of sales achievement and commitment to excellence.
Access Elevator Supply is recognized as a Preferred Supplier Partner by Motion Control Engineering (MCE).
Thyssenkrup Elevator also recognizes Access Elevator Supply as a Preferred Vendor.
